Friday Favorites #4

Hello, hello and Happy Friday, my second favorite “F word”! And happy November! Welcome back to Friday Favorites, where each week I’ll be sharing a handful of things I’m loving lately. Cheers to Friday, friends… we made it!

A glimpse of fall in our backyard

Southern fall is quite different than the fall season I used to experience growing up in Wisconsin. Where I live now, we don’t have many trees that change colors due to the heavy pine tree environment. But, my back neighbor has one non-pine tree that always changes colors in late-October/early-November, and right now the leaves are bright red which makes me so happy!

Leaf shadows and the morning moon

So pretty, right? I love a good leaf shadow and the morning moon has been a whole vibe as of late. Love looking up seeing blue skies and the moon.

Maple frosted pumpkin cookies

One word — YUM. I found the recipe on Pinterest and baked them Sunday. They’re good without the frosting, but even better with. A new favorite recipe for sure. (Runs to grab one right now!)

Handing out Halloween candy to the neighborhood kids

We’ve handed out candy the last couple years in our neighborhood and I love it. Trick-or-treating isn’t the same as it used to be, but I still enjoy seeing all the costumes and chatting with the occasional neighbor. We handed out chocolates, caramel apple suckers, and other fruity candies and made sure each kid got a sizable helping.

Finishing a good book

The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix was one of the books on my fall reading list and I’m so glad I read it! It’s not my normal genre, and it took awhile to get through all 400+ pages, but it’s 5 stars from me in the end.

An Iron Mike latte

I treated myself to a Friday caffeine boost from the coffee shop a few miles away from my house. It was much needed, especially since I was originally going to work from home, but ended up going into the office when I remembered today was the day that IT was swapping out iPhones. Sigh…

Have the best weekend, whatever you do! No clue what we’re planning to get into, but rest assured Adventure Jen is always looking for something fun to do. See you next week for more Friday Favorites!

PS — I’m still listening like crazy to 1989 (Taylor’s Version). It’s for sure my favorite re-recorded Taylor’s Version album to date.

Enjoy!
