Hello and Happy Friday! And happy last day of endless January (because whew, what a month)! Welcome back to Friday Favorites, where each week I’ll be sharing a handful of things I’m loving lately. Cheers to Friday friends, we made it!

Last week’s NC snow day

It was quick to melt, but rest assured, we threw lots of snowballs at Mogul. Alex even got three days off work thanks to the accumulating snow and ice. Polar opposite conditions this week, but who’s complaining — because not me!

Reading the perfect winter thriller during the cold snap

Picked A Killing Cold by Kate Alice Marshall as my January Book of the Month pick and really enjoyed it! The vibes were on point having read it during the coldest week of winter (so far). Love me a good crazy-family-remote-cabin murder story.

New Taylor Swift enamel pins

I’m loving the newest additions to my enamel pin collection… four Taylor Swift-themed pins I bought on Etsy — “Peter losing Wendy” from the Cardigan music video, the Debut butterfly, “Proud member of the Tortured Poets Department”, and the Reputation bodysuit snake. AREN’T THEY SO CUTE!?

Unrivaled 3v3 basketball league

Really fun to watch and hoping for lots of success in the inaugural season! Go women’s sports! Just finished watching the Lunar Owls beat the Laces in a battle of the 4-0 teams and it came right down to the wire. Love the concept of this league.

A rewatch of Wicked

Was dying to see it again after watching in theaters back in November. So many of the songs get stuck in my head on a daily basis. Second watch through was just as good as the first.

Stain glass sunflower book ends

I’m obsessed! Alex and I bought a set of locally crafted sunflower book ends to put onto our bookshelf in the front room. We still have to get everything settled but I HAD to share a picture here so you can see how stunning.

Griff singing any version of last night’s mascara

Listen when I tell you… the chokehold last night’s mascara has on me… it’s unhealthy. I love it in every form — live (Short n’ Sweet and Vertigo tour versions and Graham Norton), stripped down (just released!), and the OG studio recording. It’s a bop and I can’t get enough.

This song’s been blowing up TikTok for several months and I’m officially on board. Such a groovy, authentic live performance (small critique though — I wish she would’ve made a mess of the cake at the end… I was waiting for it).

A successful January book club chat

We read Mrs. Nash’s Ashes by Sarah Adler and had so much fun chatting about it last night. A super cute romcom to kick off 2025 reading and the perfect beach read to cure the January blues. Now looking forward to choosing our February pick.
