February 2025 Goals
We made it to February. I repeat — we MADE it to FEBRUARY! In the 20 lifetimes that passed in endless January… I feel like I really struggled to get into any kind of consistent groove. I tried to create new habits and (kind of) failed. But I’m not going to let it get me down, we’re just going to dial up the expectations and try harder! Let’s recap my January goals and take a look at what I want to accomplish in February.
In January, I wanted to…
Create routine and actually use my planner. Hmmmm, it wasn’t my best effort.
Read 1 book per week (and both books coming in my January Book of the Month box). I read 4 books total (1 book per week the first 4 weeks, slacked on the 5th week but it was a January/February hybrid week TECHNICALLY). I also finished both my January Book of the Month books — A Killing Cold by Kate Alice Marshall (4 stars) and A Sea of Unspoken Things by Adrienne Young (3 stars).
Walk 25 miles outside. The way I failed myself :( ugh. Got in several walks, but not enough!
Try 4 new recipes. I think we tried 2, but we also made a few other things we hadn’t cooked in a long, long time.
Post 2 weekly recaps and/or favorites posts on the blog. I did post two favorites posts in January — go me!
Clean out and reorganize my bedroom dresser and closet space. I cleared out my side of the dresser drawers, but the clothes didn’t make it any further than stacked on the floor.
Have a “new date” date day with Alex (doing something we’ve never done or going somewhere we’ve never been). We tried a new brunch place in Aberdeen, NC. It was called Mason’s Restaurant & Grocery and the food was pretty good.
Create a Duolingo account. I created an account AND started my first few lessons!
Take a day trip to the beach. Unfortunately didn’t make it to the beach. Between the cold weather and snow here in NC, the beach stars struggled to align.
In February, I want to…
Reestablish a water drinking routine.
Read 2 books by BIPOC authors.
Finish the last book in the ACOTAR series (might be a stretch goal, we’ll see).
Walk 25 miles outside.
Celebrate our golden dating anniversary (14 years on February 14th).
Clean off clothes-pile mountain now that the upstairs HVAC unit is fixed. Put together a few bags of clothes to donate.
Get a 7-day streak badge on Duolingo.
Make an appointment to fix my car’s windshield (even though I don’t want to).
Get the weekly recap series rolling again.
