A Collection of Photos from My 2025 Camera Roll

Last spring, I read a book called The Bright Years by Sarah Damoff, and it ended up being the book that gave me my quote of the year: “The work of the artist is to freeze time.” As someone who loves taking pictures wherever I go, there’s almost nothing more satisfying to me than hearing the click of my own camera. There’s something so pure about capturing a good picture — the kind of picture that takes a moment in time and freezes it into a forever memory. A good picture is one you can look back upon — days, weeks, months, or years later — and be transported right back into the thick of it. Back to the laugh you shared with someone you love. Back into the sound of the waves crashing the shore at the beach. Back to the little joys that sometimes seem forgettable and the life-changing moments that made you shed a happy tear or two or three. That’s why I love taking pictures… I have all these frozen capsules I can close my eyes and jump back into. What’s not to love about that?

At the end of every year, I always take a moment to look back on the past year’s camera roll. Sifting through thousands of photos, it’s become a tradition of mine to make a highlight reel of some of my favorite memories as captured through the lens of my camera. 2025 is no different. In fact, in 2025, my camera roll saw many changes — the biggest of changes. Entering the year as a family of two, Alex and I saw our hopes of expanding our family turn into reality in November. From January to March, life was all about us, future tripping and dreaming of the day we’d become Mom and Dad to a tiny human. In March, I took a pregnancy test while Alex was on vacation in Colorado; staring at the positive result, I couldn’t fathom what kind of adventure we were about to embark on, but I was more excited about the prospect than I’d ever been. From March to November, my body changed, readying itself to meet our sweet Ava Jay. 2025 will always hold an extra special place in my heart for that very reason — it’s the year I found out I was going to be a mother and the year I actually became one. We ended the year sleep-deprived and tired, but our cup of love was always flowing over!

Looking through and pulling photos from 2025 was so much fun. In many ways, it feels like I lived three different lives in such a short amount of time. And though it took me a lot longer to get this posted than I originally intended (thanks, newborn trenches), I’m finally getting around to sharing it with you today. So, here it is: a collection of photos from my 2025 camera roll — 12 months of memories that illustrate life, love, and happiness in 2025. The best year yet!
