Now that we’re well into September (how???), I have to say, HAPPY FALL YA’LL (I can see Alex now, reading this, rolling his eyes, and mumbling: “Fall doesn’t start until September 23 this year, it’s not fall!” — FALSE, fall is September and September is fall). The past couple weeks have been equal parts busy, overwhelming, tiring, and fun. I’m hoping for a better, calmer week, but let’s see how that goes (positive attitude Jen, positive attitude).
Read MoreA low key weekend was exactly what the doctor ordered following a long week of business travel in Mexico. After a late Friday thanks to airplane delays in Dallas/Fort Worth, it was nearly midnight before I pulled into my driveway. I was so tired I slept until 10am Saturday, which never happens. Later Saturday afternoon, Alex and I went out for margaritas, then finished the night playing a couple games of Skip-bo, which I lost both times. Sunday included lunch at Latitude 35, tea cocktails at Winterbloom Tea, and of course, a nap!

Read MoreAfter evading COVID-19 the last 2+ years, the virus finally made its way into our house a couple weekends ago. Symptom-wise, Alex suffered a cough, fever, and lots of congestion, while I had a sore throat, cough, fever, headaches, congestion, AND lost my taste and smell. It’s honestly crazy how different the virus is for every person. For awhile I was concerned I’d never smell again, but thankfully my senses seem to be in the process of restoring themselves (praise!).
