Looking Back At Last Week
I started off my week with car troubles, so that’s cool — right? I could tell something was wrong because the RPMs kept jolting between 2 and 3 and even shot up to 5 a couple times on my way home from work. I took my car to the dealership on Tuesday… and found out my 60,000 mile, 2015 Toyota Corolla has a bad transmission. Great! I’m playing the waiting game for now, but hey, they put me in a new Prius for the time being.
On top of my car troubles, Alex also had car troubles to start his week. His SUV got a flat tire last Sunday and we didn’t notice it until Sunday night right before bed. Both of our cars out of commission before the start of the work week, talk about bad luck…
Oh car troubles… always sneaking up on you at the worst time.
Last week, I started something fun on the blog that I want to continue posting on weekends moving forward. In last week’s post (see Frustration & Gratitudes), I shared a bit about my frustration with the week and ended with a recap of the things that made me happy. I had so much fun looking back through photos while writing last week’s post and I want to continue to use that positive energy and reflection for today’s post and future posts as well.
Here’s what I’m thankful for this week:
~Selfies!
I love a good selfie, what else is there to say?
A couple quick things:
My black glasses are from eyebuydirect! I love the quality of all the glasses I’ve purchased from this site (I have three pairs and I’m getting ready to shop for some more). If you have your prescription handy, they have 30% off lenses right now.
My teal waterfall wrap jacket is $23 from SHEIN. I have it in three colors and it fits true to size. I get a lot of compliments when I wear this jacket. Plus, the fabric is comfortable and perfectly business casual if you work in an office.
My gold color button down is from Target. I don’t think it’s available online anymore, but check your local store.
My plaid flannel shirt (with a detachable hood) is from Forever 21. It’s only available in size small right now. I also have this shirt in blue plaid as well. I recommend looking around at the Forever 21 plaid jackets — they are affordable and so cozy!
~More amazing weather.
Okay, so it’s basically sweatshirt and boots weather for good now. Aerie comes out with some of the best cozy sweatshirts every year. I was eyeing up a few in the store yesterday! Sweatshirt weather also means that I get to wear my favorite Green Bay Packer hoodie every NFL Sunday — so soft and cozy. And yes, I’m still loving Target’s Kamryn Faux Leather Combat Boot - Universal Thread™. I’ve been wearing them religiously.
~NYC trip planning.
I won’t spill ALL our NYC details, but I’m really excited because we bought tickets to the NYG vs. Green Bay NFL game at MetLife Stadium. The game is Sunday, December 1st and I can’t wait to get decked out in green and gold and represent my team! There will be lots of pictures, stayed tuned. We also bought tickets to see Aladdin on Broadway. It’s my first ever Broadway show and I’m really looking forward to it.
~The boys and their love/hate relationship.
Every now and again, I catch a good photo of sibling rivalry. They love each other, but love to antagonize each other too.
~The new Selena Gomez songs.
Both of these songs are at the top of my list of favorite songs released this past week. I’ve had them on repeat all weekend. Even if Selena Gomez isn’t your typical musical cup of tea, you have to admit the messages are powerful in these new songs. Yes, there’s a lot of auto-tune. But I love a good song with a story more than anything and both these songs hit me just right on the first listen. What a comeback, Selena!
~This video of Harry Styles joining Kacey Musgraves to sing Space Cowboy in Nashville.
I have always loved the song Space Cowboy. This morning I was scrolling through Flipboard and I came across this video of Kacey Musgraves surprising her crowd with a guest — Harry Styles (any One Direction fans out there?). Sign my name on the petition for a remix recording of this song featuring Harry Styles. Right now please.
~This week’s nature pictures.
And of course, a bunch of nature shots from my iPhone. See below for my favorites.
A sunset rainbow.
A Tuesday morning sunrise that turned into a Tuesday afternoon blue sky.
And then a colorful Tuesday sunset. Tuesday was a fun and colorful photo day for sure.
A lovely sunrise on my commute to work.
Cotton fields in full bloom.
Hope you all had a fantastic weekend. Enjoy!
