90's Fashion: Baggy Blue Jeans & White T-shirts

Hi friends, happy TBT!

Does it get any more 90’s fashion than baggy blue jeans and white t-shirts?

For today’s TBT, I decided to share another one of my favorite old photos: a professionally taken family photo of all my maternal cousins and me from the late 90’s (probably 1999 given the age of the two smallest babies in the photo). Don’t you love our matching outfits? I think they make the photo even cuter!

You probably notice that the red head gene is super strong on my mom’s side of the family.

My maternal grandma had four daughters and two of them (including my mom and my aunt Lisa) were born with red hair. My aunt Lisa went on to have two sons, one of them born with red hair. My mom went on to have three daughters, not a drop of the red head gene in sight. Of my mom’s non-red head sisters, Pam went on to have two sons but no red heads and Carmen went on to have 2 daughters and a son, one of the daughters and the son born with red hair.

When you really think about it, this is a once-in-a-lifetime quality photo. No crying babies, no one looking awkwardly at the camera, and no one making a funny face or gesture to ruin the picture. I don’t recall any other time that all of us cousins have been together at the same event and succeeded in taking a similar quality photo. Granted we haven’t all been at the same event many times since 1999, but you know what I mean.

For example, we were all together again in 2012 to celebrate our grandparent’s 50th wedding anniversary and this is the best photo we were able to take!

Good memories with cousins I love dearly. Someday, I’d like for us to get together again to recreate the old photo. I think it would be a such a cool memory to have to illustrate the changes from the 90’s to now. The big difference, other than our older ages, would be skinny jeans and jeggings over baggy blue jeans. Gotta love fashion.

The weekend is around the corner. Do you have any plans? Drop a comment below and let me know what you’re planning!
