Friday Favorites #13
Hello and Happy Friday! Welcome back to Friday Favorites, where each week I’ll be sharing a handful of things I’m loving lately. It’s been a busy week for me as I’ve been traveling and visiting family in Wisconsin. I’m back home AND off work today — and it feels so so so good to have a “chill day” to rest and relax after being on the go the last handful of days. Cheers to Friday friends, we made it!
Cartoon drawing souvenir from a wedding
How cool is it to have a cartoon artist drawing up your wedding guests at your wedding reception? This was such a cool idea. Alex looks like Alex, and I don’t look anything like me, but I just love it.
Kelsea Ballerini’s PATTERNS (Stripped Session)
I’ve said it before, but I’m a such a huge fan of Kelsea Ballerini. I loved listening to this stripped version of select songs from the PATTERNS album. Music and performance aside, Kelsea also said a couple things that stood out to me during her talking breaks: 1) “I just believe that like the production of a song should follow the heart of a song. And if you want a beat drop, throw it in there sister!” (re: We Broke Up) and 2) “I love writing about the forward motion of the heart… and even though sometimes that forward motion leads you right back into something that’s going to make you write another heartbreak song, you still at least have that forward motion.” (re: To The Men That Love Women After Heartbreak). I also really enjoyed hearing Hindsight Is Happiness for the first time live. She’s right to keep that song close to her heart so it doesn’t get misinterpreted, but it was refreshing to hear her play it, especially in a stripped down capacity and not on her tour.
Billions Club Live with Miley Cyrus: A Concert Film
Miley Cyrus is having so much fun performing intimate concerts for her fans and it really shows. Watching her sing the hit songs that built her career — plus a few new ones — was just so refreshing in this setting. Her artistry is not for everyone, and I get and respect that, but I love her!
New jogger set from Old Navy
I can’t explain how soft and cozy this set is. I wore it all week in Wisconsin and now I’ve decided I need more colors haha. I bought the joggers and half-zip in the color Dusk Blossom.
Time with family in Wisconsin
A few short days in Wisconsin… never enough but oh so good for the soul. I got to hang with my sisters and my parents, see my grandma, spend time with my niece, and do a little traveling to some favorite and new-to-me places I’d never been before. Only one picture below but I’ve got so many good memories on my camera roll.
Belts’ Soft Serve ice cream
Belts has the BEST soft serve ice cream — and I mean best. We stopped twice and I enjoyed the flavor of the day (chocolate mint) both days. I miss it already.
July book club chat
We had our July virtual book club chat last night and it’s always fun to catch up with the ladies and talk about the book of the month. For July, we read Tell Me What You Did by Carter Wilson, and even though it wasn’t a book I’d recommend, it’s always interesting to hear different views and opinions, especially when different people consume different versions of the book. Now to pick our book for August!
Have the best weekend, whatever you do! It’s our anniversary weekend, so we’re off to Outer Banks, NC for the weekend to enjoy some extended beach time. Looking forward to it.
PS — Friday Favorites #12 from a couple weeks ago if you’re interested. Oh, and catch me listening to August by Taylor Swift on repeat all month long… ‘tis the season :)
Enjoy!
