2023 Holiday Reading

If you’re anything like me, you struggle to feel festive this time of year. The holidays are a lot of work. Decorating, baking, gift giving… it’s not my forte. I prefer a quiet, low key, more minimalist Christmas, one where I can snuggle on the couch, drink copious amounts of coffee with Baileys Irish Cream or Rum Chata (or both), and get lost in a good book or two or three. That being said, I do love me some holiday reading — there’s something about a feel good Christmas romance… even a Christmas murder mystery (thriller lovers, you get me here). In the weeks leading up to Christmas, I like to hunt down a few seasonal reads to add to my reading list, and this year is no exception. Here are some books you’ll find me reading this holiday season.

Book Thoughts: The Only One Left by Riley Sager

Calling fans of Verity by Colleen Hoover (5 stars) — Don’t sleep on this one! Immersive, thrilling, twisty, and smart, Riley Sager’s latest release, The Only One Left, is perfect for readers of all genres. The book’s set in the 80s, with most of the story taking place in an old, remote murder mansion built on the edge of a cliff. The spooky vibes are on point here: a creaking house, footsteps down the hallway in the middle of the night, shadows under the door frame and in the window, morally questionable characters with dark secrets, and a paranormal feeling, among other things. It’s good!

10 Books I Want to Read This Fall

Time to set aside the beach reads — fall/spooky season is here! Reading is one of my favorite hobbies all year long, but I love, love, love reading in the “ber” months (cooler weather and cozy couch reading, yes please). After a slow couple months of summer reading, I’m looking forward to a new season of heart-racing thrillers, mysteries, witchy fiction and other romances, and maybe even a horror novel or two (gasp — definitely outside my comfort zone but ‘tis the season). Here’s a list of 10 books I’m hoping to read this fall.

What I’ve Read and Loved in 2022 (So Far)

Hopefully you’re ready for some bookish content because I’m here today to talk about the 57 (!!) books I’ve (somehow) managed to read halfway through 2022. Back in January when I set my reading goal at 52 books (thinking a book a week), I had no idea I’d shatter it by June.
