Another year around the sun, another year I’m ever-grateful to experience the privilege of growing older. At 33-years-old, fresh off the heels of another wonderful birthday, I can’t help but smile as I reflect on the person I’ve become over the last three decades plus — the big-hearted, Taylor Swift-loving, life’s-what-you-make-it kind of person who writes this post today.

Complete with a blanket in the sand, a good book, and a low maintenance lunch (a Subway sandwich and a Diet Coke), I took advantage of the beautiful sunny and 70 degree (November!!) weather and spent a few hours at one my favorite, most happiest places. It was the best therapy a girl could ask for following several weeks of long, busy workweeks and post-election chaos. Out on the beachfront for more than two hours, I spent my time napping, people watching, meandering, taking pictures, reading, and enjoying the peace and beauty of the moment.

Read MoreThough it’s not yet consistently cold outside, the temperatures around here are pretty erratic at the moment. As such, of course our HVAC unit went out during one of the cold spells. It took a few weeks to get it up and running, but we have AC and heat again — rejoice! I bought a heated blanket last year and I’ve been living underneath it almost every night. It’s so cozy!
